Stages Of The Hero Journey

In Act two Macbeth has reached the part of the journey where he has crossed the threshold. By killing Duncan, Macbeth can no longer push aside the thoughts that he has been having. He cannot go back to just being a friend to the king he is now an enemy to the rest of them. By killing Duncan, Macbeth has now become king and maybe by being king he will feel guilty for what he has done, but he cannot change the past. His wife has also crossed the threshold because she helped Macbeth hid the evidence and put it on the guards. She no longer is just a wife to a man but an accomplice in treason.
