Hero Journey
It is clear which stage of the hero journey Macbeth is currently at. He had his ordinary world, which was when he was a warrior, he was encouraged by a mentor, who was Lady Macbeth, and he has just crossed the threshold. Killing Duncan was a stage of the hero journey because Macbeth can no longer turn back. He has killed the king and taken the throne. Turning back is not an option for him anymore because he cannot bring Duncan back to life. This stage of the hero journey was very important for Macbeth because it is what allows him to take the throne, which was prophesied to him by the witches. (This would be considered his call to adventure.) This is a shoe print because this was a big step for Macbeth in terms of the hero journey.
