At this point in Macbeth, he has been called to the journey. His ordinary world is that of brutal battles and bravery. the wyrd sisters are the ones that call him to the journey. Macbeth was called when he came across the wyrd sisters and they gave him the prediction that he will become king. Macbeth never thought about this as an option for him in the beginning of the story. Now he only sees one way in which he can become king, that king Duncan must die. Macbeth thinks that he has to be the one to make this happen.

Effective identification of two stages of The Hero Journey. I think you could expand on Macbeth's ordinary world to include his relationship with Duncan. His relationship with the king at the beginning of the play is crucial to thematic development. Some may argue that Lady Macbeth delivers the call to adventure (Ari mentioned this point in class), however I think you can make a strong argument for the witches playing the Herald role. Good start. Keep up the good work.
