In act II we see that the motif is blood. We first see it when Macbeth is thinking about killing the king,Duncan. Macbeth starts to imagine a dagger with blood on it, and the dagger is leading him to kill Duncan. When Macbeth is imagining the dagger, it is covered with blood. The blood is indicating the regret Macbeth has for killing Duncan as he looks at his hands. Then we see the blood on the guards that Macbeth put on them. He was trying to fram them of killing Duncan so he could get away with it.
