In act 5 we see that the weather is not as gloomy as it has been in the beginning of the play. As Macbeth looks over the wall of his kingdom you can see that the sun is shining brightly as it rises.It is like that saying calm before the storm. It almost shows that it will be the end of all the misery that Macbeth has put himself througth. The gloomy weather in the beggining of the play symbolizes the corruption of Macbeth. By the weather being nice it almost shows that his guilt will no longer be hanging in the air above him. When Macbeth is beheaded the sun shines brighter as if nature has finally took the right course.
This is a great post. I did not even notice this when we were going over the play. After reading your post I completely agree with you.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with this point. The bright sky may represent what Macbeth is feeling inside, confident and unbeatable, but the readers know exactly what is going to happen next. Great point Nicole.

ReplyDeleteThis is a really good point. It was really observant to tie the weather to the corruption of Macbeth. The gradual change in weather shows how Scotland is finally getting back on track without Macbeth in power.
ReplyDeleteI agree with nicole. I didn't notice the weather either. It is definitely important to the scene. It helps get the point across to the readers about the mood of the scene.
ReplyDeleteI never really paid much attention to the weather, even though it was a pretty big theme from the beginning. I almost feel like the blue sky represents the fog lifting from Macbeth's rule and revealing the sun and a clear blue sky to represent the new and completely un-repressed atmosphere that Malcolm is going to bring to the table.
